Volunteers Needed for Cape Breast Cancer Walk

Cape vounteers are needed for a walk to support breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Cape Cod is currently seeking local residents to serve as volunteer planning committee members for the Sunday, October 6 walk.  Assistance is needed with logistics, team recruitment, sponsorship recruitment, and more.  The noncompetitive 4 mile walk starts and ends at the Barnstable County Superior Courthouse.

The fourth annual Making Strides of Cape Cod will be an inspiring event that unites the community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educates about the importance of early detection and prevention, and raises funds to help the American Cancer Society do the most for people breast cancer today to end the disease tomorrow.

"Individuals who are willing to give their time and energy to this exciting event as a volunteer or participant have made a commitment to make strides to end breast cancer," said Ashley Wills, Community Executive for Development with the American Cancer Society.  "The progress we are making is remarkable, but we need volunteers to join us in the fight."
