All about squid and more for July 28.

1) Today will be sunny, with a high near 75. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.

2) Highfield Hall will host "Cooking from the Garden: Corn!" with Gail Blakely today from 10:30am-12:30pm. This session will feature ways to use fresh-from-the-garden corn: toasted, roasted, chowdered, frittered, grilled, boiled; it all adds up to YUM! The cost is $20; registration is required. 3) Tonight at 7:30pm, the will present a talk by Cape Cod author Wendy Williams, who recently published Kraken: The Curious, Exciting, and Slightly Disturbing Science of Squid, a mix of science, history, and legend about the fascinating cephalopod.
