Defense Bill Prevents Job Cuts at Otis

President Obama signed a bill Wednesday that saved 140 jobs at Otis Air National Guard Base.

The U.S. Air Force announced plans in February to cut 140 jobs with the 102nd Intelligence Wing’s Air Operations Group at Otis Air National Guard Base.

Lt. Governor Tim Murray and other lawmakers urged Air Force and Pentagon officials not to go through with the cuts during the year, according to the Cape Cod Times.

That work paid off Wednesday when President Barack Obama signed the National Defense Authorization Act officially preventing the cuts, according to the Cape Cod Times.
