Falmouth Housing Authority to Ban Smoking in April
Residents of the five public housing properties in Falmouth will have to go outside to smoke starting in April.
The Housing Authority will ban smoking in all multi-dwelling properties in April, according to the Falmouth Enterprise. The ban will not include single-family homes.
The ban, which will take effect in April, aims to protect the health of all residents and reduce damage from cigarette burns and smoke. The ban would also reduce the possibility of fires.
Thomas L. Lacey, Executive Director of the Falmouth Housing Authority, told the Enterprise that residents could be fined if they ignore the ban.
