Security Guard Nabs B&E Suspects

Police arrested two men early this morning, with the help of the guard.

The Falmouth Police Department is crediting a security guard for apprehending two would-be thieves early this morning. According to the police, after observing the men attempting to break into cars parked in the Palmer Avenue parking lot, the guard called police, and pursued the men, identified as David Allen Byron, 19, of 138 Teaticket Highway, Apartment 329, and Justin Ryan Beckwith, 18, of 8 Pacheco Path.

According to a statement released today, "One of the men, David Byron...turned on the guard and attempted to assault him causing the guard to defend himself. Falmouth Police arrived and arrested Mr. Byron.

"A BCSO Deputy K-9 Officer responded to assist in locating the second suspect. A successful search led to the location of Justin Beckwith. Mr. Beckwith refused to surrender, and as a result was bitten by the Sherriff's K-9. Mr. Beckwith was also placed under arrest by the Falmouth Police."

The two men were charged with a raneg of crimes, including trespassing, disorderly conduct, and attempting to commit a crime.
