Article 23, which will be the second item to be discussed at tonight's continuation of Town Meeting, would essentially curtail the operation of the town's 1.65-megawatt turbines, Wind 1 and Wind 2, until the November 2012 Town Meeting.

Last November, the Board of Selectmen voted to shut down Wind 1 in the midst of complaints from abutters in the Blacksmith Shop Road area that the turbines were causing adverse health effects. Wind 2 has been in temporary operation for a 60-day trial since February of this year, so that officials can test its alleged negative effects.
