Laughter is the best medicine and we are laughing for the health of it! It is a fun exercise, anyone can do. NO jokes.
Laughter Yoga was created by Indian Physician Dr. Madan Kataria in 1995. Based on Dr. Kataria's research into the healing power of laughter and the principles of Pranayama yoga, Laughter Yoga is a body-mind exercise providing multiple benefits to its practitioners: improving mood, promoting relaxation, relieving pain and even lowering blood pressure.
Since these benefits accrue whether one's laughter is genuine or simulated, Laughter Yoga invites you to "fake it until you make it" using playful laughing exercises, deep breathing and easy movements.
In Laughter Yoga, the body leads the mind. As philosopher William James put it, "we don't laugh because we are happy, we are happy because we laugh."

Falmouth Recreation Department/Gus Canty Community Center
The Falmouth Recreation Department manages the athletic activities and events for the town. Many of the athletic activities and events take place at the Gus Canty Community Center, which was built in 1998. It is a 30,000-square-foot, mixed-use facility with playgound, auditorium, gymnasium, basketball courts, locker rooms with showers, meeting rooms and a TV/game room. The recreation department has a variety of seasonal athletic and club programs, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Youth Nights. See the website for seasonal schedules.
