FCTV's 'The Village Green' Program Offers Virtual Tour of Cape Cod

A roundup of five things to know in Falmouth for Wednesday, Aug. 14.

1. Falmouth Community Television's quarterly news magazine TV program, "The Village Green", has a new edition airing on FCTV-Public Access Channel 13. Filmed in part in Falmouth center, the half-hour program aims to inspire viewers to get out and enjoy everything Falmouth has to officer. The program can also be viewed on demand at fctv.org. 2. "Turbine Trilogy, Part One" is the title of blogger Dave Kent's most recent post, in which he describes a possible approach to the Falmouth turbine issue. Want to weigh in? Read Dave's blog here. 

3. Wednesday Meeting Roundup: The Design Review Committee will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Falmouth Town Hall. The Falmouth Commission on Disabilities, meanwhile, will meet at 7 p.m. in the Civil Defense Room at Falmouth Town Hall, and the Falmouth Recreation Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the Gus Canty Community Center.

4. In Case You Missed It: Officials announced this week that the CapeFLYER train service has been extended to run through Columbus Day after it attracted more than 11,000 riders since it launched on Memorial Day weekend. 

5. There will be an author reading at the Woods Hole Public Library at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, featuring author BJ Atwood-Fukuda.
