Lighthouse Carols, Grinch Meets Scrooge, Artful Shopping

Five things to do in Falmouth this Friday, Dec. 6, 2013.

1. Caroling at the lighthouse: The Falmouth by the Sea Holiday Celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. with caroling and hot chocolate at Nobska Lighthouse.

2. Free inspiration at the library: December's free movie at the Falmouth Public Library is Last Ounce of Courage, "the inspirational story of how family, friends and an entire town stand together for each other and for freedom." 6:30 p.m., use Meeting entrance on Katherine Bates Road.   

3. How could this be anything but a whole lot of holiday fun? Falmouth Theatre Guild's "A Seussified Christmas Carol" opens at 7:30 p.m. at Highfield Theatre. Through Dec. 15: Fridays at 7:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 
4 p.m. at 58 Highfield Drive in Falmouth. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and children. To order tickets, go to www.falmouththeatreguild.org  or call 866-811-4111.

4. Where do you get your holiday greenery? Palmer House Inn posts on Facebook: "Each year we buy wreaths from the local Cape Cod & Islands Council Boy Scouts of America. They do a nice job."

5. Shop locally and support Falmouth artists: You can find locally-made gifts and artworks at the Falmouth Art Center at 137 Gifford St., Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
