Plants for Bands; Safety for Kids; Turbines, Foreclosures and Trash

Five things to do and know about in Falmouth this Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013.

  1. Here's a way to ease into the holiday spirit while supporting music programs for Falmouth schoolkids: The Annual Poinsettia and Holiday Greenery Sale is on with members of the Falmouth High School Band selling poinsettias and holiday greenery for as little as $10 through December 2 with delivery by December 7th, just in time for the Christmas Parade. To place orders, contact a FHS Band student, call Christine Lanoue at 508-930-6777 or email falmouthbandparents@gmail.com
  2. Falmouth selectmen hold an executive session tonight at 6:30 p.m. for a "wind turbine legal discussion," according to their agenda for the meeting in room 105 at Lawrence School.
  3. Also at 6:30 p.m., Teaticket Elementary School holds a safety forum for parents following last week's arrest of a sex offender near the school.
  4. Foreclosures: Why? Who? What To Do? is the topic of a talk by Jane Silverman, attorney for South Coastal Counties Legal Services, at 7 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth, 840 Sandwich Rd., East Falmouth.
  5. A note from Town Hall: "Due to the Veterans Day Holiday, trash pickup will be one day late during the week of November 12 through November 16, 2013."
