Shopping Deals Help Falmouth Band Students, Community TV

You can also hear a Russian concert, register for the Jingle Jog and donate warm clothes for winter, all in Falmouth this Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013.


1. Such a deal: The Tuff Kookooshka Trunk Sale to Benefit FHS Music Programs starts at 9:30 a.m. at Caline for Kids, 149 Main St. For four days only, through Dec. 8, all Kookooshka products will be offered at 50% off retail. The clothes are designed right here in Falmouth and produced in Fall River. All the proceeds from the sale are being donated to the Falmouth Band Parents Organization.  Caline for Kids Store Hours: Thursday, Friday  9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Visit www.tuffkookooshka.com for product details and to view the selections.

2. Oh, baby: Bring your lap babies to the Falmouth Public Library's Children's Program Room today at 9:45 a.m. for an hour-long playgroup for parents and babies from birth to 14 months. No need to register. Contact: Coalition for Children   (508) 548-0151 x 172, ttoran@falmouth.k12.ma.us.

2. Shop for Falmouth Community Television: At Puritan Cape Cod, 199 Main St. from 5 to 8 p.m., you'll save 10 percent while helping FCTV, which receives 10 percent of all purchases made during this event. Refreshments served.

3. East meets west: Tonight's Saint Petersburg (Russia) Men's Ensemble Concert at John Wesley United Methodist Church, 270 Gifford St., is a one-time performance of Eastern and Western Liturgical compositions, Russian folk music and seasonal favorites. Tickets available at the door: $10 adult, $5 student, $25 for a family of 3 or more, children under 6 no charge. Refreshments will be served. 

4. Save $10 on Jingle Jog registration: It's not too late to register online for the upcoming Jingle Jog and Kids' Elf Run, scheduled for Dec. 7 at the Flying Bridge in Falmouth. The $25 adult registration fee goes up to $35 on race day, so sign up now and save. Registration for the half-mile Elf Run is $10 a kid. The elves start their run at 12:30 p.m. and the Jingle Jog begins at 12:45 p.m. All runners get jingle bells and the first 200 adults and 50 elves get T-shirts, too.

5. Get a warm feeling: Donate winter clothing — hats, mittens, coats and scarves — to the Student Council drive at East Falmouth Elementary School.  Just bring your donations to the bins in the front lobby of the school at 33 Davisville Road.
