Five things to do and know in Falmouth this Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2013.

1. Wednesday's weather will be sunny but cold: The National Weather Service forecasts sunny skies, a daytime high of 24 but wind chill could make it seem like -6.

2. Falmouth Public Library posts on Facebook: "Happy Appy Storytime will be held Wednesday at 6:30pm, in the Hermann Foundation meeting room. Come in your pajamas, listen to stories and songs, and hear about great ipad apps to share with your child at bedtime. We'll also be serving hot cocoa and cookies!"

3. Have you seen our latest post with Jobs in Falmouth: Real Estate, Medical Tech, Insurance Sales and more? You can find help-wanted listings any time on our Jobs page from Careerbuilder.

4. The Marine Biological Labs-Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Library posts on Facebook: "Have you ever dreamed about spending your summer vacation researching in the MBLWHOI Library Stacks? Here is your opportunity! Applications for the 2013 Fred Karush Endowed Library Readership are being accepted until February 15. For more information:

5. Falmouth Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPs) need your help if you'd like to volunteer for Junior Achievement classroom programs teaching financial literacy and other business skills. If you, or someone you know, is interested in volunteering for Junior Achievement– even for one class– please contact VIPS by calling (508) 548-1621 or sending email to vips@falmouth.k12.ma.us. The program runs all year long, so interested volunteers can state preferences for time of year, grade, school, or teacher. To learn more about JA, visit:www.janewengland.org.
