2014 Boston Marathon- One Fund Team

I am writing today because we need your help!

Most of us remember where we were when we heard the news of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing tragedy. The resolve that Boston and the running community displayed during the chaos, as well as, in the aftermath was overwhelming. A city and community banding together to show that we can, and will, overcome this terrible tragedy. Many of us asked asked what we could do to help. There is a way, and today I am asking for your help.

Many of you know that one of my lifelong dreams is to run the prestigious Boston Marathon. I have run a few marathons, and in 2013 even completed a half Ironman. I wasn't sure participating in the Boston Marathon would ever happen for me. I am not a fast runner and qualifying was analogous to the odds of winning the lottery. The Boston Marathon however, is something I have dreamed of since childhood. I am honored to announce that I will be running the Boston Marathon with the One Fund Team on April 21, 2014! As one of only fifty runners, chosen from well over four hundred applicants, I am humbled and honored to be able to run for something much bigger than myself. Much bigger than a personal record or a "race". The One Fund was created solely to help those affected by the terrible tragedy at the 2013 event. I have also included a link to a video of one of the bombing victims that is inspiring and heart warming.

I have a challenging fundraising goal of $15,000.00 and only three months to raise it. This challenge is nothing compared to those affected by the tragedies of last year. Their challenges have only just begun. Don't underestimate the power of a small contribution. A small contribution from many, will make a world of difference to those in need.

Thank you friends, I know I can count on you! Please take a moment and forward this to anyone you think may also be able to help.

Here's the link to my fundraising page. It's really fast and easy.
