Do You Have a Phenomenal Animal?

Do you have a story of an amazing, comical or unique animal?

Animals are our cohorts, our comfort and our source of wonder and laughter, be they companion animals or the wild ones we see mostly from a distance. If you're in tune with them, you'll notice many attributes associated with humans: jealousy is the most obvious, but loyalty is right up there.

And there's also the traits you don't expect: dogs climbing trees or the bulldog who rides a skateboard, pushing himself with a back paw on the pavement.

Cats, especially, have a penchant for the paranormal and downright eerie, such as the nursing home tabby sitting vigil at a resident's door, often before anyone else suspects death is imminent.

The crazy, even dangerous, things animals do, are fascinating, too. A turkey attacks a mail truck in Centerville. My dog clogs her digestive system with children's socks. Why? Humans might hazard a guess, but a guess is all it is.

I know there are stories out there we haven't heard yet. Falmouth has its share of animal lovers if the People for Cats group and a nearly-completed dog park are any indications. If you have a story about an amazing or unique animal, let us at Patch know. We'd love to write about it. Email editor Emily Sussman at emily.sussman@patch.com.
