Falmouth made BuzzFeed's list of "24 Small New England Towns You Absolutely Need to Visit."

“Soak in the sun at Falmouth Heights Beach; see the sea creatures at the Woods Hole Science Aquarium; learn about the ocean’s complexities at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution,” the article says about the town.

Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard and Marblehead were the only other Massachusetts communities to make the list.

If you wanted to visit Falmouth when it was affordable and fun for families, you should have done so before the housing boom. The original locals were good hard working people and friendly. I grew up there and have many memories of summer fun. We never locked our doors and there where always kids playing outside. Now all you see are tourist walking from one scenic view to another. Many of the original homes have been torn down or renovated to make room for the rich summer homes. The rents are so outrageous that finding summer help is becoming a big problem. So, sure, come and visit the Cape, just remember to leave when your done having a good time. Don't forget to swing by the town hall and thank all the greedy politicians on driving the locals out for a few extra bucks.

Caution: Falmouth real estate. Thoroughly investigate the market, interview professionals and research the commercial wind turbines effect on property values. In real estate, it is said that the three most important factors are location, location, location. Falmouth has three Vestas V 82 commercial 1.65 megawatt turbines. We are talking massive industrial wind turbines that weigh nearly 70 tons. These turbines are taller than the Statue of Liberty and the width of a Boeing 777. The population of Falmouth is 32,000 people and 54 square miles nice small town ? BuzzFeed is way off the mark here. When was the last time someone from BuzzFeed looked at Falmouth ? A word of caution to anyone looking to rent or buy real estate . Ask why the real estate companies don't tell you how close the industrial wind turbines are to the homes ? They tell you the distance to schools and down town -why not the turbines ?

Drugs are a HUGE problem in Falmouth. The worst area to live, due to drugs, is Seacoast Shores. There are SO many drug users in that community. Just drive down there, like Berkeley Drive and Regent Circle. That area of Falmouth is the WORST for drugs. They say they are cleaning up that neighborhood of drugs but that's BS. That area will always be the worst area to live in Falmouth. It's a dump of an area.

Falmouth is under a court order to mitigate the commercial wind turbines. The Town of Falmouth may have to buy up to 200 residential homes around the turbines .
