Falmouth Church to Hold Service Following Tragic School Shooting in Newtown, Ct.

The Church of the Messiah will hold a special service this evening to allow local residents to mourn and show support for the Newtown, Ct. community.

The service will be held tonight, Saturday December 15th at 5 p.m. in response to the events in Sandy Hook and Newtown, CT.

Reverend Deborah Warner said she wanted to hold the service to give residents a chance to grieve as a community.

“What struck me was the need to come together as a community in solidarity with those that have lost children and friends in acts of gun violence,” Warner said.

Warner also has a personal connection to the tragedy, she knows the Episcopal minister in Newtown and says she has a heavy heart for that minister and first responders who are dealing with one of the nation’s worst school shootings in history.
