Falmouth Commuters Take Varying Paths

One commuter says driving behind public buses on Rte 28 in the morning is "maddening," while another drives eight miles to Falmouth and rides his bike the rest of the way to Woods Hole. How's your commute? Tell us.

What's the average commute time in Falmouth? Find out what the census numbers say in our latest Newscruncher interactive map, "What Falmouth Village Has the Worst Commutes?"

On the Falmouth Patch Facebook page, community editor Tamara Starr asked people how long they commute. Here are some responses:

  • "15 minutes from W Fal to Main Street - easiest commute I ever had."
  • "20 steps from the first floor to the lower level in Quissett!"
  • "Route 28 7 a.m. Falmouth towards Mashpee. The public buses make this 14 minute trip 25 and the snails pace is maddening. Changed my route because of those horrible buses."
  • "8 mile drive to Main Street then bicycle the rest of the way down to Woods Hole.#beatsummerferrytraffic"
Now it's your turn: How long does it take you to get to work? What do you like or dislike about your commute? Tell us in the comments.
