Get Out Weekend Planner April 30 - May 1

Our Get Out Weekend Planner column consists of five events to help you prepare for those long-awaited days off! Please be sure to add your own suggestions to our comment box.

Volunteer at Mass Audubon    Mass Audubon is holding its 5th Annual Statewide Volunteer Day on Saturday, April 30th, from 9am to 12pm.  They have 14 sites in Massachusetts that need the help of volunteers to help maintain gardens, trails and other chores on the wildlife sanctuaries. Opening Day at Coonamessett Farm   Come the on Saturday, April 30, from 9am -5 pm and visit with the animals, dine at the café and check out the greenhouses and fields where you can pick your own produce!  Admission is $8.  Seasonal memberships are available.

May Basket Workshop   The is hosting a "May Baskets Make and Take Workshop" on Saturday, April 30th at 11am.  There is a $10 fee for supplies.  You may bring your own basket if you have one.  Please sign up early; space is limited!

Master Singers by the Sea Concert    The will present "Dances of Darkness and Light: Music of Petition, Hope and Joy" at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Saturday, April 30th at 8pm and Sunday, May 1st, at 3pm.  This event will offer works new and old, featuring composers such as Debussy, Rommereim, Bach and more!  Admission: $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

“The Sound of Music”   The will be presenting Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music" at Highfield Theater Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm until May 15th.    Admission: Adults $16 and Seniors/Students and children under 18 $14.  To purchase your tickets please click .
