Alecia Jean Orsini Lebeda wears many hats, chief among them Production Coordinator at FCTV.

Our new regular column, "Movers and Shakers," spotlights the accomplishments of a Falmouth resident doing interesting and innovative things in the community.

Falmouth resident Alecia Jean (A.J.) Orsini Lebeda wears many hats: not only is she a co-owner and founder of Good Natured Dog Productions and a part-time host at the Woods Hole-based public radio station WCAI, she's also an active member of the , the Falmouth Young Professionals, and the Geek Girl Educational Training Center.

But wait... there's more! A.J. is perhaps best known around town for her work as the Production Coordinator at , where she takes on the day-to-day responsibilities involved in getting programming on the air, including important community events such as Town Meeting.

So where did this talented and ambitious young woman get her start?

After earning her B.F.A. in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art and Design, A.J. and her husband worked on films in and around New England on a freelance basis. Though they found the work exciting, she says she wanted a more stable occupation, and as a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, doing something that impacted a community and involved outreach was "very important" to her. Having had experience with community television in her youth in her native Medway, she decided to give it another shot in Falmouth.

"[FCTV] had a great reputation, and seemed like an exciting place to work," A.J. says. "When I interviewed with Executive Director Deb Rogers [in 2009], she got me excited to jump into this community."

A.J. adds that "FCTV is the place for the people who live, work or go to school in Falmouth to have access to information technology, the training to use it, and the ability for them to communicate their ideas to the entire community. I tell the students of our Youth Producers that we are like a soap box, a place to make your voice heard."

And you'll hear no complaints from A.J. about being a young person living on Cape Cod. "Falmouth is such a vibrant town; the people here are so involved and care deeply about the well-being of their community," she says. The town "attracts all sorts of people looking to be inspired, and that energy is contagious. I've surely caught the bug!"
