Weekend Planner: February 4-5

Five great events in Falmouth this coming weekend.

A morning workshop for parents and providers, "Raising Strong and Healthy Girls and Boys," will take place on Saturday, February 4 from 8-11am at . Cindy Horgan and Sherianna Boyle will lead the workshop, which is hosted by the Coalition for Children and the Barnstable County Council for Children, Youth, and Families. The registration fee is $10 per person and includes a continental breakfast, vendors, and workshop. From 8-9:15 will be the registration, breakfast, and vendors. The workshop will run from 9:30-11. For more information, call 508-548-0151, ext. 172.

The public is invited to the for an extraordinary free event at 4pm on Saturday, February 4, when Mass Audubon’s Ian Ives will present a slide show all about owls. Why? A Great Horned Owl (nicknamed “Screechie”) was severely injured in a collision with a big truck in Falmouth. A Falmouth DNR officer took her to Cape Cod Wildlife Center, where she has been treated by local veterinarian Dr. Robert Aquilar. “Screechie” has recovered and the release is back to the wild is planned for dusk Saturday after the presentation!

The Woods Hole Theater Company will hold auditions for Christopher Durang's farcical satire, "Beyond Therapy," on Sunday, February 5 at 4pm at the fire station on Water Street in Woods Hole. There are roles for two women, one, 20's to 30's, the other any age; and four roles for men, two, 20's to 30's and the other two any age. Rehearsals will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, and the performance dates will be May 10-12, 17-19, and 24-26 starting at 8pm. There is a reading script available at the .
