Weekend Planner: January 28-29

Five great events in the Falmouth area this weekend.

Come visit the Waquoit Farmers' Market this and every Saturday this season from 10am-3pm at the . Check out the handcrafted foods, locally grown fresh produce, weekly cooking demos, used books, and the thrift store. Home of the famous Holy Frank's hotdog!

The continues its Winter Film Series for Kids every Saturday at 3pm in January, and most Saturdays in February. The films will be shown in the lower level meeting room and are free and open to the public. Because of the strictures on the Library’s license for public viewing, the actual title of the films cannot be included in publicity. In the past, the public and the library have enjoyed riddles to the titles. The next film, which will be shown on Saturday, January 28, is an animated story based on and closely titled after Shakespeare’s most famous love story. If anyone cannot solve the riddle of the title, they may simply call the Library at 508-548-8961 and ask. 

The Chappaquoit Cello Quartet will be performing a benefit concert at the on Saturday, January 28 at 7pm. The musicians are all students of Nikki Patton at the Chappaquoit Cello Studio. Come on out to at 1pm or 2:30pm on Sunday, January 29 (two shows) for Animals in Winter with Mary Beers. As a teacher and naturalist for 25 years and Director of Education for the Thornton Burgess Society in Sandwich, Beers studied animal tracking with renowned tracker and author Paul Rezendes. Come learn from her about common animal tracks and signs through a hands-on indoor activity and a short outdoor exploration! Great for kids ages 6 and up. 

Come and see the George Gritzbach Band tear it up this Sunday afternoon, January 29 at 5pm at the restaurant in North Falmouth. There's no football, so what else are you going to do? Come and dance the winter blues away!
