Check out these great events happening in Falmouth this weekend!

will host a Cape-Friendly Landscaping Event and Plant Sale on Saturday, June 2 from 9am-3pm. Beautify your yard while protecting our bays and ponds, and learn how to landscape your yard with trees, bushes, and plants that require little or no water, fertilizer, or chemical inputs. The featured speakers are: 9:30am- Hila Lyman, Master Gardener; 11am- C.L. Fornari, the Garden Lady; 12pm- Michael Talbot, BA, MCH, ISA; 1pm- Will Clark, Plymouth Cty Extension; and 2pm- Alison Robb, Nature's Circle. Cape-friendly shrubs and perennials will be for sale, and there will be a drawing with great prizes!

The will hold a class, "Step Outside: An Introduction to Plein Air Painting," on Saturday, June 2 at 9am with instructor Betsy Payne Cook. Plein air painting is an exhilarating experience, and this three-hour workshop is ideal for artists who want to take the challenge of stepping outdoors to paint. Participants will need a sketchbook and painting supplies. If you have access to borrow a plein air easel, please bring it along. The cost is $30; please register in advance at falmouthart.org.

’s annual Spring Book Sale will start on Saturday, June 2 at 10am and will continue until 5pm. This sale will feature mostly newly received books given as gifts for the sale, and includes some older volumes weeded from the Library collection. The sale is always a popular  shopping event with very affordable buys. Most of the hardcover books will be priced at $2 each, with paperbacks at 50 cents, though special books may be priced higher.

On Saturday, June 2 at 5pm, the Falmouth Historical Society will present a talk with author Tony Horwitz at . Horwitz wrote the Boston Globe’s “Best Nonfiction Book of 2011,” Midnight Rising: John Brown and the Raid that Sparked the Civil War, about the beginnings of the American Civil War. 

A contra and square and folk dance will take place in the  from 8-11pm on Saturday, June 2. Don't miss the live music by the Woods Hole Folk Orchestra! The cost is $8 per person. For more information, email bluefish@cape.com.

The Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Forever Green Festival Electronics Recycling Event will take place on Sunday, June 3 from 10am-1pm at the . This will be the biggest birthday celebration ever! There will be live performances, animals, interactive activities, a hot air balloon, Forever Green activities, and birthday cake. Bring you entire family for this once in a lifetime celebration. Metech Recycling will be on site as well to collect old and obsolete electronics to be recycled. Recycling fees apply for some items. Tickets will be available for purchase at the gate for $15 per person.

will present "Taking Flight with the Firebird," an enchanting story ballet that will delight children and adults alike. The show also features world-renowned choreographers, professional dancers, and talented students. There are two shows, one at 2pm and one at 6pm, both of which will take place in the Bourne High School auditorium on Sunday, June 3. Tickets are $12 (children 3 and under are free) and are available at the door or in advance by calling 508-444-0278. Please note that the 2pm is close to selling out, so advance purchase is recommended.

Internationally acclaimed pianist Sara Daneshpour will perform an elegant and emotional repertory of selected works by Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff and Mozart on Sunday, June 3 at 4pm at . Ms. Daneshpour's performances, both in this country and abroad, consistently earn high accolades of audiences and critics. After a featured solo appearance in New York, the New York Concert Review wrote of her, "... she exhibits all the requisites for a high voltage career and more: blazing technique, power, expressivity, imagination, and a lovely stage presence."  Tickets are $20 if purchased by noon on Friday, June 1 online or by calling 508-495-1878, ext. 303; admission at the door is $25.
