11 Ways to Help Falmouth Schools: PTO To-Do List

How can you help your kids' schools in Falmouth? The East Falmouth Parent Teacher organization has 11 practical things you can do to make a difference.

Eleven ways you can help local schools, whether you have kids in them or not, from the East Falmouth Elementary School PTO Facebook page:

1. Register your Stop & Shop card: Local schools can benefit from your supermarket shopping from Oct. 4 to March 20. Visit www.stopandshop.com and click on MY STOP AND SHOP, A+ Rewards to enter your savings card number. (East Falmouth Elementary School ID is #06785).

2. Save your box tops and labels and return them to your child’s classroom teacher: EFES earns $.10 for each box top and the labels are used to buy sports equipment and art supplies. http://www.boxtops4education.com/ & http://www.labelsforeducation.com/ for all the info and register everyday to win Tablets for the school: http://sweeps.labelsforeducation.com/

3. Visit www.TeacherLists.com: Find out what your child’s classroom teacher needs for the room. The lists are useful for holiday shopping too!

4. Vote for your schools through Sept. 21 in the GIVE WITH TARGET contest. Schools get a $25 gift card for every 25 votes. Visit http://givewith.target.com/.

5. Meet your kids' teachers: At East Falmouth, the meet and greet is Tuesday, Sept. 17 and you can stop by the PTO table to register your Stop & Shop card and buy some school "Spiritwear."

6. Eat ice cream: Join East Falmouth Elementary School at Smitty’s on Wednesday, Sept. 18 between 5:30 and 7:30 to see your favorite teachers behind the counters scooping ice cream. Smitty will be donating a percentage of the evening’s sales to the PTO.

7. Dress up: Come to East Falmouth Elementary School in your costume on Friday, Oct. 25th for the annual spooky spaghetti supper.

8. Don't eat it all: Remember to save your extra Halloween candy for the annual donation to Falmouth’s Military personnel serving overseas. Boxes will be set up in the hallway at East Falmouth Elementary School.

9. Stock up on dough: Pie and cookie dough sales start Oct. 1 and run through October 17. Order forms will come home for with students.

10. Buy books: The November Scholastic Book Fair is a great way to do some holiday shopping.

11. Shine a light: The Honor Tree will be lighted with red, white and blue lights on Friday, November 8th. A portion of the funds raised will be donated to local Veteran’s Groups. Forms will come home in October.
