Students returning to Lawrence School next week will see a familiar face in a new office: Mary Gans, who was the middle school's assistant principal last year, has been named interim principal by Falmouth Public Schools' superintendent Bonny Gifford.
Gans was appointed after Lawrence School principal Nancy Taylor was named director of pupil personnel services for the school district.
According to an announcement on the school district website, Gans came to the district in September 2011 as a guidance counselor for Lawrence School and became assistant principal there in 2012.
“I have complete confidence that she will do a wonderful job serving the School Community as well as the entire Falmouth School District. I look forward to working with Mary as a key member of our administrative team,” Gifford said in a statement on the website.
The first day of school in Falmouth is Sept. 3.
