Woods Hole Landmark Reopens As Tavern
Woods Hole denizens and travelers can again refresh themselves at the bar across from the Vineyard ferry terminal.
The former Leeside bar, across from the Steamship Authority terminal in Woods Hole, officially reopened Tuesday morning.
Renamed Quicks Hole Tavern by new owners Beth Colt (in photo) and Stefanie Mikolazyk, the new establishment is serving beer, wine, cocktails and bar snacks on the first floor only.
Quicks Hole Tavern also serves organic Speedwell coffee and espresso drinks made with beans roasted in Plymouth.
Once the second-floor restaurant has been painted and readied for opening, likely in January, Colt says the first floor bar will shut down for its own makeover.
Till then, the Leeside appears much as it did before its closure and sale earlier this year.
The biggest change so far is a new beer tap system and a fresh paint job behind the bar.
Once both the restaurant and bar have been refurbished, Quicks Hole Tavern will remain open year round, joined in the summer months by Colt and Mikolazyk's original Quicks Hole Taqueria down the street.
