THE 2013 NEW BALANCE FALMOUTH ROAD RACE – AUGUST 11TH

Global athletic leader New Balance celebrates the 41st running of the New Balance Falmouth Road Race on Cape Cod, Massachusetts on Sunday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. EST.  This cherished New England summer race continues to be one of the top non-marathon events on the international circuit attracting runners and spectators alike.

This year families and kids attending the Family Fun Run on Friday, August 9th at 6:00PM will have the chance to meet and take pictures with New Balance mascot ‘Newbie’. New Balance will once again participate in a clinic titled “Footwear Innovation: What’s New in Running Shoes for 2013” on Saturday, August 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Expo located in the Falmouth High School Field House presented by Bekah Broe, New Balance Trackster. Additionally, there is the Falmouth Mile, a high school mile and a wheelchair mile, on Saturday night all kicking off at 6p.m. at Falmouth High School. Team New Balance Athletes Jack Bolas, Craig Miller and Sarah Brown will be running in the Elite Mile Saturday, August 10th at 7:00PM. Team New Balance will look to capitalize on the big win by Brenda Martinez at last year’s race.

For the first-time ever, the New Balance Falmouth Road Race will have an Elite Women’s start on Sunday, August 11th to recognize and celebrate the amazing female athletes who travel from around the world to run the race. New Balance President & CEO Rob DeMartini will run for his fourth consecutive year on Sunday, August 11th with a large group of New Balance associates in tow. The full line of New Balance Falmouth Road Race official gear will be available at the Falmouth Road Race Expo and the New Balance Mashpee store with select pieces available online at www.newbalance.com. The New Balance booth will celebrate the new marketing campaign “Runnovation” and feature innovative products from the campaign including the neutral cushioning 880v3. A separate New Balance booth will showcase the new NB Psyche collection, a complete collection of sports bras built to meet the demands of any woman.
