5:42 a.m.:

Both the Sagamore and Bourne bridges are open.

Saturday, Feb. 9-

8:30 p.m.:

Here is the latest NSTAR outage numbers in Falmouth:

NSTAR Customers Served: 26794 NSTAR Customers Affected: 13250 % of NSTAR Customers Affected: 49

4:30 p.m.:

The statewide driving ban was lifted at 4 p.m., the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency posted on its Facebook page.

The number of NSTAR customers without power in Falmouth as of 5:00 p.m.:

NSTAR Customers Served: 26794 NSTAR Customers Affected: 18570 % of NSTAR Customers Affected: 69

10:50 a.m.:

Governor Patrick extends the driving ban for all non-emergency vehicles. Officials have not said when the ban will be lifted.

Number of NSTAR customers without power in Falmouth:

NSTAR Customers Served: 26794 NSTAR Customers Affected: 18174 % of NSTAR Customers Affected: 68

Friday, Feb. 8-

11:54 p.m.:

1:30 p.m.:

Governor Patrick today at FEMA press conference: "I have signed an executive order banning vehicle traffic effective at 4pm today."

The Cape Cod Mall is closing at 2 p.m.

11:07 a.m.:

Sandwich High School will open as an emergency shelter today at 3 p.m.

Two Regional (Pet Friendly) Shelters are scheduled to open at 3 p.m. today: Dennis/Yarmouth High School and Nauset High School.

Eastern Bank will close at noon today.

9:13 a.m.:

Falmouth District Court will close at noon today.

Falmouth Amateur Radio Association has cancelled their License Exam Session for Saturday and will reschedule in March.

The Falmouth Ice Arena will be closing at 1 p.m. today and plans to re-open Sunday morning.

Thursday, Feb. 7-

4:48 p.m.:

Falmouth Public Schools will have an early dismissal Friday. Students will be dismissed as follows:

  • Falmouth High School:   11:15 a.m.
  • Lawrence School:           11:55 a.m.
  • Morse Pond School:       12:00 p.m.
  • Elementary Schools:      12:40 p.m.

In addition, all school activities are canceled for the weekend effective Friday afternoon including Extended Day, Kids Club and Latchkey.

Falmouth Academy is closed Friday.

Massachusetts Maritime Academy will close at noon Friday and reopen Monday morning.

Cape Cod Community College is closed Friday and will remain closed Saturday February 9 and Sunday February 10.

12:43 p.m.:

The town of Falmouth Department of Public Works is preparing for this weekend's storm. The department will begin treating roadways Friday and will be ready to begin plowing when the snow hits. Officials recommend residents prepare for the storm by having supplies ready in the event of a power outage.

Important Supplies include flashlights with spare batteries, a battery-operated radio or TV, First-aid kit and medications, canned, freeze-dried or dehydrated foods, a manual can opener, bottled water, baby or pet supplies, and important phone numbers.
