Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters in Woods Hole, country music with a bluegrass touch

March 2: Amy
Gallatin & Stillwaters, Country music with a bluegrass touch!

Stillwaters is a
country and bluegrass band founded by singer Amy Gallatin and resophonic
(Dobro-style) lap guitarist Roger Williams. Sharing a mutual love of country
music, these veterans of the New England music scene play acoustic country
classics in a bluegrass style. The result is a blend of soaring vocal harmonies
and high-speed picking, traditional yet modern and distinct. The two are joined
on mandolin and vocals by Mr. Williams’ son JD Williams, a student at Berklee
College of Music, and by veteran bassist Eric Levenson, formerly with Joe Val
and the New England Bluegrass Boys and Boston City Limits.

Born in Muscle
Shoals, Alabama, Amy Gallatin traveled west as a young adult to work with
horses and music, organizing riding programs and providing entertainment at
guest ranches in Idaho and Montana. She returned to the east coast in 1993, and
has since recorded four albums with Stillwaters and performed at prestigious
venues in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe. Stillwaters twice represented
America as featured performers at the European World of Bluegrass convention in
The Netherlands.

Ms. Gallatin
sings country, folk, bluegrass and western swing music, branding each song with
soulful sincerity. Her influences are diverse, ranging from traditional and
contemporary cowboy tunes learned out West to the music of artists such as
Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and BB King.

Roger Williams
started playing resophonic guitar as a teenager, making his youthful debut with
The Lilly Brothers and Don Stover at the Hillbilly Ranch in Boston, MA. Since
then he has performed and recorded with highly respected bluegrass and folk
artists across the national and international circuit. Mr. Williams has
recorded two solo albums and two collaborative efforts, including one with his
son, JD Williams. He has also been involved in the  'Pickin' On' series,
where different musical genres are interpreted in the bluegrass vein. Bluegrass
Unlimited magazine says, “He can be mellow and lingering or crisp and jaunty.
He's also a very fine singer [with] more than a little of Merle Haggard in
voice and emotion."

JD Williams joins
his father Roger Williams as a full time member of Stillwaters on mandolin and
guitar. Steeped in the country and bluegrass family tradition, his unique style
is also informed by jazz and blues. The younger Mr. Williams attends Berklee
College of Music in Boston, MA majoring in music therapy. He is a recipient of
several prestigious scholarships, and is a founding member the up-and-coming
bluegrass ensemble High Rock Mountain, comprised of fellow Berklee students.

during which he toured extensively overseas and across the US. A recipient of
