Poetry Reading
Some of Falmouth’s
fine poets have graciously agreed to read from their work on
Wednesday evening, April 16th at 7:30 PM at
the Woods Hole Public Library in honor of National Poetry Month.
Mary Kane who teaches
literature and writing at Massachusetts
Maritime Academy
and whose poems have appeared in Beloit
Poetry Journal and on Poetry Daily,
will read from her newly published book, titled “Door” (which is available at 8
Cousins book store in Falmouth).

Jim Morgan also teaches
literature and writing at Massachusetts
Maritime Academy.
He lives in Falmouth
with his wife, their two cats, and several guitars. His poems have been
published by Peka boo Press and Potpourri Editions.

Eric Edwards, who
grew up in Woods Hole, has read and performed in Woods Hole numerous times. His
poetry appears in the two most recent issues of Spritsail, a Journal of the History of Falmouth and Vicinity, as well as chap
books published by the Pourboire and Peka boo Presses. According to him, he is
the only arachnologist/poet in New England, formerly the only
arachnologist/poet/mailman in the United States.
Judith Benét Richardson has
written poetry, also published by the Peka boo Press, and several successful
children's books. A graduate of the writing program at Boston University,
like Jim Morgan and Eric Edwards, she has lived in Woods Hole for many years.
These four poets have performed together annually at the
Woods Hole Library, which is delighted to welcome them back, They will be
joined by Robin Smith-Johnson, a
long-time resident of Cape Cod, who has been involved with several local poetry
groups including the Lead Pencil Poets (Falmouth) and the Steeple Street Poets
(Mashpee). Her poems have been published in CapeWomen,
The Larcom Review, Sandscript and Yankee.
Her book, “Dream of the Antique Dealer’s Daughter”, was published in Dec. 2013
by Word Poetry. She lives with her family in Mashpee, MA.
