Reggae Songstress Etana to perform in Falmouth

Etana, one of the biggest female reggae perfomers in the country, will perform in Falmouth this week.  On Wednesday, August 28th at 9 PM she will perform at The Beach House Restaurant in Falmouth.  Thirty year-old Etana (Shauna McKenzie) was born in Jamaica and has released three albums.  She toured Europe in 2012 and released her third album – Better Tomorrow – earlier this year. She has been hailed as one of the burgeoning new and sensational sound in the roots Reggae era and is touring the United States this summer.  Her roots remain sunk deep in August Town, Jamaica, the home base of Reggae icon Sizzla, but she now lives in Florida with her husband and children.

From reggae and pop to rock and jazz, her musical influences are varied. Etana describes her brand of music as reggae soul – “It is straight from the heart, straight from the soul, straight from the people and everyday life.”

She’ll be joined on the stage by special guest Bobby Hustle.  The show is presented by One Drop Productions and The Beach House.  Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. They can be purchased online at http://www.ticketweb.com/fb/3775144.  The Beach House is located at 7 Nathan Ellis Highway in North Falmouth. For more information call 508-569-5029.  Doors open at 8 PM.
