What's Open, Closed on Thanksgiving in Falmouth?

Thanksgiving is Nov. 28: Stock up in advance on what you'll need, as liquor stores and supermarkets are closed all day Thursday. But if you want to go bowling on Turkey Day, no problem.

We take Thanksgiving seriously here in the state where it was invented:

  • Municipal, state, federal offices and banks: Closed. Falmouth town offices are also closed Friday.
  • Retail stores and supermarkets: Closed.
  • Liquor stores: Closed.
  • Post offices: Closed, no mail delivery.
  • Convenience stores: Open at owner's discretion.
  • Bars and restaurants: Open at owner's discretion.
  • Libraries and schools: Closed.
  • Gyms: Closed or reduced hours.
  • Stock market: Closed.
  • Ryan Family Amusements: Open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. "Bowling is just $1 per game, TVs will be showing the games, and snacks, beer and wine are available at most locations."
  • Steamship Authority: Friday schedule: Last boat from Woods Hole 9:45 p.m.
Most businesses will reopen Friday, Nov. 29. Students return to school Monday.
