WINDSTORM - Governments, Scientists, Wind Industry KNEW!

HEALTH impacts caused by low-frequency noise from wind turbines have been known to US researchers and the renewable energy industry for more than 25 years.

A recently released article has given vindication and hope to many Falmouth residents  (“Wind turbine dangers known since 87” - http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/health/turbine-dangers-known-since-87/story-fn59nokw-1226676190761).

The coverup is similar to the tobacco / cancer link information withheld from the public in too many ways.

Excerpts from the article:

* The laboratory experiments found that “people do indeed react to a low-frequency noise environment”.

* It found that the standard A-weighted measure for sound was “not an adequate indicator of annoyance when low frequencies are dominant”.

* ... other research has shown that as wind turbines get larger, a greater proportion of the sound is emitted in the lower frequency range.

* ... the results of the laboratory simulations in the US study proved there was a direct cause-and-effect relation between the low-frequency noise and “annoyance”.

It’s reasonable to expect the Falmouth Board of Health is certain to review this newly uncovered “old” information.  And it’s certainly expected, with this coverup revelation, Falmouth’s wind turbine mistake will be squarely in a ‘health and safety” light.  Integrating local politics and pro-wind pandering into the solution dialog has caused unnecessary delay and unnecessary further harm.  There is no longer “two sets of facts,” as Selectmen Rebecca Moffit stated at the Selectmen's preliminary July 1 meeting to outline the upcoming wind turbine 'problem' workshop.

The remaining question - will the Board of Selectmen acknowledge the clearest and most concerning “fact” on the ‘workshop’ table - that residents in are being harmed by wind turbines?  Our will they clutch to perpetuating the community chaos?
