All Bands Night March 12th at FHS

Falmouth High School, Lawrence School, and Morse Pond School will come together to showcase their symphony bands and jazz bands at the All Bands Concert at the Falmouth High School Field House on Wednesday, March 12th at 7:00 PM. This concert is a unique opportunity for the audience to enjoy young musicians at all levels and for students to appreciation and celebrate each other’s musicianship. Each school’s symphony band and jazz band will perform separately and all 400 students will unite to play patriotic songs as one incredible group. The concert is free and open to the public.

Members of the Falmouth Band Parents will be at the concert to sell advance tickets for the upcoming ‘Annual Evening of Jazz’ event that will take place this year at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel on Saturday, April 12th from 5 – 7 PM (doors to the Sea Crest ocean view banquet room will open at 4:30 PM). Advance adult tickets are $10 and students who are accompanied by a paying adult receive free admission. This evening’s entertainment will include fabulous performances from professional award winning jazz musicians in The Brian Thomas Group and from the talented FHS Jazz Ensemble. Proceeds will benefit FHS music programs. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.falmouthbandparents.org or email bandfruit@verizon.net.

Additionally, representatives from the Cape Cod Conservatory will be available at the All Bands Night to discuss music opportunities for students. The Cape Cod Conservatory and Falmouth Public Schools have been collaborating to offer high school students lessons after school at FHS and to bus students in grades 5-8 directly from Lawrence and Morse Pond to the CCC Falmouth campus for group music classes or private lessons. A chaperone meets the students at the Conservatory and oversees a “homework club” before and after their lessons. Children must be picked up by 5:00 PM. For more information, please contact the Conservatory at 508-540-0611.
