OBITUARY: Ronald Norman Dorn, 81

Here is the obituary for Ronald Norman Dorn, 81, of Falmouth.

Ronald N. Dorn, 81, of Falmouth, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Falmouth Hospital.

He was born in Bronx, NY on May 9, 1932. He spent most of his life in Springfield, Massachusetts.  He was a longtime salesman at Ross Furniture. He was the only child of the late Molly (Hechler) and Harry Dorn.

Mr. Dorn very proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict stationed in Germany and at the Pentagon.

For the last 7 years, Ronny resided at The Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth.  He was affectionately known as “The Mayor of Royal.”

He is survived by his cousin and caretaker Janice M. Heckler Souweine, her husband Dennis and their sons Jay and Adam of Falmouth, and his cousin Andrew L. Heckler of Sandwich.  He is also survived by many loving cousins throughout the country.  He will be dearly missed.

The family wishes to extend its sincerest thanks and gratitude to the staff of Royal Nursing and Falmouth Hospital for their care and compassion. 

Mr. Dorn was interred in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne with military honors.
