Barnstable County Commissioners to Consider Assembly Vote Referring Two Energy Agencies to Attorney General for Audit - at Wednesday Meeting Commissioners May Veto Move to Focus Light on Financial Records Production Refusal by Cape Light Compact and Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative Spending $Millions of Public Money At their upcoming meeting on Wednesday, December 11th (see agenda), Commissioners will consider the recent vote taken by the Barnstable Assembly of Delegates referring two energy agencies, Cape Light Compact [CLC] and Cape and Vineyard Electric Cooperative [CVEV], to the Attorney General for Aud it. For more that three years the two agencies have resisted disclosing their financial transactions to the public despite disbursing millions of dollars in taxpayer energy funds paid by utility ratepayers. Last Wednesday the Assembly of Delegates voted to refer the matter to the Attorney General for auditing. That action is now in question by the County Commissioners who may very well veto the action in their meeting on Wednesday. Please attend and make sure that your County Commissioners do the right thing. The meeting is this Wednesday, December at 11AM in Barnstable Superior Courthouse Conference Room 11/12. Commissioners: Mary Pat Flynn (Falmouth), Chair Term: 2013-2017 mflynn@barnstablecounty.org William "Bill" Doherty (Harwich), Vice-Chair Term: 2010-2014 bdoherty@barnstablecounty.org Sheila R. Lyons (Wellfleet), Commissioner Term: 2013 - 2017 slyons@barnstablecounty.org
