Climate Change Warnings

  Climate Change Warnings

The Massachusetts Democratic Party Platform calls for a war on fossil fuels. The platform calls to fight the war as if it is a real war.

Governor Patrick was a rising star among Democrats, climate change advocates and promised to take meaningful action on climate change. The first mistake Governor Patrick made on climate change was using a Cadillac as his official car when first elected.

Governor Patrick then sealed a deal by offering Evergreen Solar more than $76 million in grants, land, loans, tax incentives at the expense of Massachusetts taxpayers.

Evergreen Solar failed to adjust to market conditions and failed.

Governor Deval Patrick then set an ambitious commercial wind turbine goal. Massachusetts was going to reach 2000 megawatts of  renewable energy by the 2020.

Commercial megawatt wind turbines were placed Ad Hoc in residential communities in Massachusetts taking the health and constitutional property rights of home owners.

Falmouth, Massachusetts has become the site of " ground zero" for poor placement of commercial wind turbine in at least 22 Massachusetts communities. The poor placement has fractured communities in which litigation costs and fees have exceeded any hope of any kind of financial reward.

Massachusetts has taken on a military strategy to fight the war on fossil fuels. The abutters to the poor placement of commercial megawatt turbines are viewed as collateral damage. Home owners have the option to sell their homes below market value and give up the American Dream or stay at home and lose their health.

Massachusetts built a wind turbine blade testing facility in Charlestown that cost 40 million dollars. The New Bedford Marine Commerce Terminal / ocean wind turbine port started out at 35 million and is nearing 200 million.

There are NO ocean wind turbines in Massachusetts.

Folks, Massachusetts has set a terrible example for fighting Global Climate Change through an ongoing so called war on fossil fuels that has caused health problems, fractured communities, massive litigation costs, lost state investments on renewable energy companies, maintenance and gear box failures in two years old wind turbines and millions into a state renewable energy agency financing more failures.

It's time for a temporary moratorium on placing commercial wind turbines in Massachusetts for the sake of humanity.
