Conflict of Interest & Ethics - Falmouth Wind Turbines

Conflict of Interest & Ethics - Falmouth Wind Turbines   Ethical Questions: Wind Turbine Advocate Simon Chapman   The Town of Falmouth through the Falmouth Board of Health has received documentation from Professor Simon Chapman. The letter was received by the Falmouth Board of Health, May 9, 2012. Simon Chapman is a sociology professor and has no medical training.   A letter was recently written to: Michael Spence BA LLB Sydney DPhil PcDipTheol Oxf
Vice Chancellor and Principle, University of Sydney. The pdf file is at the bottom of this opinion.
It appears possible Professor Simon Chapman is conducting research without prior ethics committee approval from the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of Sydney.   Falmouth, Massachusetts has three Vestas V 82 type 1.65 megawatt wind turbines and is ground zero for poorly sited commercial wind turbines in the United States.   Professor Simon Chapman participated with Vestas Wind Company in June of 2013 in the launch of their global denial of the harm their product is causing. The name of the program was  called their “ACT on FACTS” campaign.   Recently it revealed in 2004 a VESTAS employee called Erik Sloth delivered a presentation to the Australian Wind Energy Association’s conference. lt showed VESTAS were aware in 2004 that the international standards for wind turbine noise emission modeling were inadequate   The World Health Organization acknowledges “annoyance” symptoms can result in adverse health effects. American Psychiatrist Dr William Hallstein’s letter to the Falmouth Board of Health, which clearly explains what wind turbine noise is doing to people.   The Friends of Falmouth Wind has written and held Simon Chapman as the messiah to save face over the embarrassing placement of wind turbines in Falmouth. The wind turbines continue to cause harm.   The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center sold two of the Vestas V 82 wind turbines in the Falmouth locations.    It should be noted that the Mass Clean Energy Center provides grants to the Town of Falmouth and a Woods Hole research group in excess of hundreds of million of dollars. The resources pouring into the Falmouth area businesses from the Mass CEC undoubtedly has an influence on the Town of Falmouth local boards which include the Select Board and Board of Health.   1.The residents of Falmouth need to ask has any public board member ever abstained from voting on any boards that had anything to do with the health of the wind turbine abutters ?   2. Did any members of any boards work for any institutions or employers that received grants or compensation from the Mass Clean Energy Center.   The conflict of interest law seeks to prevent conflicts between private interests and public duties, foster integrity in public service, and promote the public's trust and confidence.   Download original document: “Letter to Dr Spence, U Sydney, re: Simon Chapman”
