Thirteen members of the Cape Downwinders anti-nuclear activist group, including three from Falmouth, have been ordered to stand trial in Plymouth District Court next March on charges of trespassing at Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station last May, reports Cape Cod Online. (Read No-nuke activists to get day in court.)
The three Falmouth residents are Janet Azarovitz, Joyce Johnson and William Maurer, who will be tried with protesters from Brewster, East Dennis, Harwich, Orleans, Truro and Wellfleet, according to Cape Cod Online, which reports that the Cape Downwinders say they want their day in court because they believe the nuclear power plant is criminally dangerous.
Do you agree with the anti-nuclear protesters? Or do you think they should be punished for trespassing? Should the trial give them a public forum? Tell us in the comments.
