Bicyclist Flown to Hospital After Motor Vehicle Crash on Sandwich Road
The cyclist was riding without a helmet or lights when the crash occurred at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Falmouth police said.
Falmouth police are investigating an after-dark collision between a motor vehicle and a bicycle that seriously injured the cyclist, according to a press release issued Tuesday night by the police department:
"At approximately 5:30 p.m. Officers from the Falmouth Police responded to Sandwich Road at Greenwood to investigate a motor vehicle accident with a bicycle. It was determined that the car and bicycle were both traveling northbound on Sandwich road when the car collided with the cyclist.
The operator of the bicycle was not wearing a helmet and the bicycle was not equipped with lights.

The Operator of the bicycle was transported by Med Flight to a Boston area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time. No further information is available for release."
