Falmouth Police Searching for Suspect in Homestead Lane Stabbing

The suspect, a 17-year-old male from Falmouth, is believed to be a danger to the public, police said Wednesday.

The following information was provided by the Falmouth Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not indicate conviction. 

Falmouth police have identified a suspect allegedly involved in the stabbing of a local man on Homestead Lane Wednesday morning. 

The suspect has been identified as Gregory Harris, 17, of Falmouth, according to a Falmouth Police statement Wednesday afternoon. Harris is considered a danger to the public, police said, and anyone with information on his location should report to the Falmouth Police Department at 508-457-2526.

Harris, the alleged suspect, is described as a light-skinned black male with a height of 5 feet, 7 inches and weighing approximately 140 pounds. No clothing description was available Wednesday, according to the statement. 

Police released the suspect's identity Wednesday after responding to the area of 23 Homestead Ln. in East Falmouth. Officers responded to the area around 4:48 a.m. Wednesday after receiving multiple reports of a disturbance; upon arrival, they located a man who had allegedly sustained several stab wounds.

The victim was transported to Falmouth Hospital, and, subsequently a Boston-area hospital to be treated for injuries. 

Officers planned to remain on scene at the Homestead Lane residents for evidence preservation and during the ongoing search for Harris.
