"Fierce" Barn Fire Closes Rte. 28 Sunday, No Injuries Reported

Firefighters from multiple Cape agencies battled a "fierce fire" at a tree-trimming company's barn near the Mashpee town line Sunday afternoon, writes Patrick Cassidy in the Cape Cod Times.

As reported on Patch during the fire Sunday, Falmouth police closed Rte. 28 temporarily as fire crews quelled the blaze.

There were no injuries, according to the Times, which also reported a fire at a home on Shorewood Avenue Saturday night that caused no injuries but extensively damaged the property.
