Cape Cod Man Sentenced in Federal Child Pornography Case

Kevin McNicol was sentenced to serve 15 years in jail and 7 years of supervised probation for producing child pornography.

Barnstable Police and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kevin McNicol, 24, of Hyannis in May following a lengthy investigation into a tip to the National Center for Missing Exploited Children CyberTipline, according to a press release.

Police say a laptop seized from McNicol’s home contained several videos and images of underage females nude and engaged in sexual acts. Police believe McNicol created the videos during webcam chats with underage females. Police identified several victims from the videos and interviewed the girls. One victim told police McNicol continued to contact her and request more photographs two months after his computer was seized.

McNicol pleaded guilty to one count of the production of child pornography in Boston Federal Court on September 27, 2012; he was sentenced Thursday to 15 years in prison and 7 years of supervised probation for the crime.
