'I Thought I Was Going to Die': Vineyard Men Survive 800-Foot Avalanche on Mt. Washington

The two Oak Bluffs men who survived the Tuckerman Ravine avalanche Saturday were identified as Conor Lodge, 22, and Adam Herman, 24, newspapers report.

Two hikers from Oak Bluffs plunged 800 feet after triggering an avalanche in Tuckerman Ravine on New Hampshire's Mt. Washington Saturday, yet suffered no life-threatening injuries, reports the Vineyard Gazette.

UPDATED: The two men were identified as Conor Lodge and Adam Herman, the Gazette reports.

Herman, 24 and Lodge, 22,  were hiking with Lodge's 24-year-old brother Tristan and another friend, reports the Cape Cod Times.

"On the way down, I thought I was going to die," Conor Lodge told the Boston Herald.
