From the Town of Falmouth website, posted Wednesday morning, Jan. 22:

Once again, we are faced with a storm in a holiday week.  Allied (Republic) has assessed conditions and will not conduct trash collection today,
Wednesday January 22, 2014.

Thursday = Tuesday’s route picked up.
Friday = Thursday’s route picked up (this is their normal collection day in a holiday week).
Saturday = Friday’s route picked up (this is their normal collection day in a holiday week).
Wednesday’s route will not be collected this week and will be deferred to their next regular day which is next Wednesday, 1/29/14.

Recycling for all routes will be completed by Saturday. No recycling routes will be missed.

Waste Management Facility (WMF)
Residents of Wednesday’s route can take their trash to the WMF at no charge and without the need of  a Trash sticker/permit on Friday and Saturday."

If originally, trash pickup was scheduled Sat. due to the MLK holiday (normally Fri.) what day has it been rescheduled? Thank you in advance!

Here's what the town says: "Once again, we are faced with a storm in a holiday week. Allied (Republic) will assess conditions in the morning hours of Wednesday. If Allied (Republic) determines that for safety reasons the scheduled pick up (Tuesday/Holiday Route) must be cancelled a new schedule will be provided by mid-day on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, as well as options for additional waste disposal at the Town’s Waste Management Facility." I'm updating the article now.

Schedule listed was confusing- originally it sounded like the trash company was following the holiday schedule and then they reverted to the original schedule--usually our trash is picked up on Wednesday so on the holiday schedule it would have been picked up on Thursday--it stated the Thursday pickup would be done on Friday but no one ever showed up except the recycling truck--so I guess the schedule reverted back to the Wednesday pickup which meant we would not get picked up until the following Wednesday--lots of trash rolling around in the streets because people are leaving their barrels out in hopes that someone will come to their rescue. What confusing mess this way?? Please make trash pickup clearer on a holiday week when their is a snow storm.
