Winter Storm Watch: Cape, Islands Could See 'Blizzard Conditions'

Heavy snow, hazardous wind chills and possibly blizzard conditions could be coming our way, according to the National Weather Service, which is tracking the first storm of 2014. We'll keep you posted in our Falmouth Storm Center.

The National Weather Service has announced a winter storm watch for the Cape and Islands from 1 a.m. Thursday until 10 a.m. Friday and a coastal flood watch from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon.

"A coastal storm will bring the potential for heavy snow along with dangerously cold wind chills and perhaps near blizzard  onditions possible for a time along the eastern Massachusetts coast," according to the NWS.

A gale watch has also been announced.

Check the Falmouth Patch Storm Center 2014 for updates on the expected storm and any cancellations and closures that may result.
