Website Aims to Help Cape Codders Save Money, Promote Small Business

The creators of Cape Cod Daily Deal say their website is a "win-win," helping both small business owners and customers Cape-wide.

Looking to save money? Perhaps you can stop clipping coupons.

Meet Cape Cod Daily Deal, a website that offers special discounts at various small businesses across Cape Cod. The specials change daily and offer deals on everything from croissants to hair cuts.

Based out of North Chatham, the website was created in Aug. 2011 when Stephen Williams, of Harwich, and Brett Tendler, of Centerville, wanted to support local businesses and help people save money.

"We enjoy helping the Cape Cod economy. It's a win-win situation for everyone involved," Tendler wrote in an email. "New customers and valuable exposure for businesses, and money saving opportunities for Cape Codders."

With the slogan "great local deals from great local folks," the website has more than 15,000 members, Tendler wrote.

Businesses hoping to offer a Daily Deal can simply create their deal online, while shoppers can register for the discounts.
