Against The Tide is an annual family-friendly fundraising event, to benefit the Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC). MBCC works to reduce toxic chemicals in the environment, which research shows are linked to the dramatic rise in incidence of breast cancer. Against The Tide will take place at DCR's Nickerson State Park on Saturday June 23rd, from 7a.m. until noon. It consists of several different activities: a one-mile competitive or recreational swim, a two-mile kayak, a three-mile walk, and a 5K competitive or recreational run.
