Teaticket Park Opens to the Public

The former Joe's Driving Range is now a 10-acre public park.

After years of planning, fundraising and community outreach, the 300 Committee Land Trust of Falmouth celebrated the opening of Teaticket Park Sunday on the former site of a golf driving range.

The park project has been supported by open space advocates and local businesses including Bank of Cape Cod, which posted on its Facebook page that

"The trust bought the land back in 2011 and has since been creating a park on the 10-acre site that was the former Joe's Driving Range. Bank of Cape Cod was an early supporter of the park and donated $5,000 toward planting of trees at the park. The pathways are open, the benches and bikes racks are installed."

According to its website, the 300 Committee Land Trust of Falmouth is a "private, non-profit land trust dedicated to protecting and preserving open space for the citizens of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Founded by a small group of volunteers to commemorate the Town of Falmouth's 300th anniversary in 1986, The 300 Committee has helped protect more than 2,300 acres throughout our community for conservation, recreation and water protection. Our important land preservation work is made possible by the support of our 1,200 annual members."
