Volunteers Sought for Halloween at Historical Society

Help scare Falmouth this October.

The is seeking volunteers to assist in its annual haunted Halloween celebration, . Set to be held at the Museums on the Green's Wicks House on Saturday, October 27, from 6 to 9 p.m., the event will be a mildly scary treat for families with children aged six and up.

Visitors will tour the grounds with flashlights, encountering local spirits. It's these lurking specters the society is looking to recruit, along with volunteers to help design and create props, decorate the grounds, and other backstage necessities.

The first meeting of the night watchmen volunteers will be held Monday, September 24, at 5:30 p.m., at the Wicks House. The brainstorming session is expected to last around an hour, with more meetings to follow in the weeks leading up to the event.

In its call for volunteers, the Historical Society asks, “Have you an inner actor? Perhaps you have a desire to create a marvelous evening for other folks in the town or you would like to work on setting the stage, creating props? Maybe you like talking with the public and would enjoy being one of the watchmen, selling tickets, helping groups find their guide, and/or crowd control in general. All volunteers are welcome over the age of 12.

“Please come to our first meeting at the Wicks House, in the summer kitchen (back ell of yellow house, 55 Palmer Avenue)...This way you can look over the scene and share ideas. We will be creating new characters and new stories. Know any zombies? Pirates? Grave robbers?
