Creep Show: 'Sweeney Todd' Continues in Falmouth

Starring Peter Cook as the murdering barber and Bonnie Fairbanks as the landlady who bakes his victims into pies, the Falmouth Theatre Guild production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" plays weekends through Nov. 10.

Friday through Sunday for the next two weekends, you can enjoy the musical called "creepy without the gore" by the Cape Cod Times.

Starring Peter Cook as the murdering barber and Bonnie Fairbanks as the landlady who bakes his victims into pies, the Falmouth Theatre Guild production of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" plays Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Highfield Theater.

This musical thriller, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and libretto by Hugh Wheeler is based on the 1973 play by Christopher Bond. It won the Tony Award for Best Musical and Olivier Award for Best New Musical.  

The lush score showcases Sondheim at his best, containing classics such as 
“Green Finch and Linnet Bird,” “Pretty Women” and “Not While I’m Around.”  

The show is directed by Joan Baird, with music direction by Roy Campbell.
